Pre-Conference Opportunties!

There will be FOUR special pre-conference opportunities to choose from:

Leadership at the Peak ($30 extra per person)
7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Chewelah Peak
Experience “Leadership Camp” first hand! Travel one hour north of Spokane to the Chewelah Peak Learning Center (CPLC) for a day of leadership camp. Washington is fortunate to have two camp facilities dedicated to leadership and learning for students in the state, with CPLC being the newest. Participants will leave the Hotel RL by charter bus at 7:30 a.m.; the day will include camp curriculum, hands-on activities, challenge course opportunities and a chance for camp folks to share philosophy, structure and goals. The bus will return to the Hotel RL in time for “campers” to freshen up before the NCSA conference opening. This pre-conference program will provide a unique opportunity for NCSA attendees to interact with some of the most talented leadership educators in the nation. Lunch, snacks and transportation are included.

Winter Recreation at the Peak ($30 extra per person)
7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Chewelah Peak
The Charter buses that will be taking members to Chewelah Peak for a mini-Leadership Camp can also transport those who decide to use the day exploring the winter recreation opportunities in the area. Snow-shoeing, cross country and down-hill skiing as well as winter hikes are all available at Chewelah Peak. Lunch, snacks and transportation are included; rental fees and lift-tickets would be the responsibility of each participant.

Speakers' Showcase
1:00-2:30 p.m. at Hotel RL
This program, which will give you the opportunity to view and interact with up and coming leadership and motivational speakers, is jointly sponsored with the National Association of State Student Council Executive Directors (NASSCED) and will be offered to participants from both organizations. A list of speakers and detailed program information is provided in the August edition of Reumors.

Gonzaga Leadership Program
1:00-4:00 p.m. at Gonzaga University
We will be utilizing the talents of Gonzaga University professors and graduate students for this two-hour Leadership Workshop which will focus on Authenticity, Personal Narrative in Leadership, and Organizational Dynamics. Gonzaga University is just up-river from the conference hotel. (You might have followed the Zags in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament this past March.) Gonzaga is known for its’ world class Leadership Studies Program that offers undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs. This will be an engaging, interactive and powerful learning session. Details are provided in the August edition of Reumors.
